Khan Hollis

Hi, I’m Khan.  Thanks for stopping by.

I’ve taken a lot of time and effort to put many of my resources in one location for my former students from New Horizons and anyone else searching for me including those who connect to my site from Geocaching or those who search for me (or content) such as clients that I’ve mentioned to checkout my website.  Perhaps you run into me from my occasional postings in different forums.

Perhaps you ran into me on social media such as Twitter.  I’m not very “social” when it comes to social media but I do post occasionally on Twitter and even less frequent on Facebook.  My family and friends send messages back and forth and/or post comments like “Hello Khan” or “Hi Khan”, etc.

Previously, I’ve taught technical class for almost 14 years as a Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT).   Being a MCT  did so much for me as I had to know the products so well.  That’s helped me in so many ways now having moved on to other job roles.  Now-a-days, I’m a Network Engineer at Super Service LLC. located in Grand Rapids, MI.

Previous to my time here I worked for a local IT company Corporate Technologies (or more commonly known as CPR here in Grand Rapids).  I was a Sr. Systems Engineer and focused on Office 365.  Office 365 is Microsoft’s cloud service offerings for Exchange Online (with Exchange Server), Skype for Business IM, voice, video, and desktop sharing with Skype for Business Server), SharePoint Online (using SharePoint Server), and OneDrive for Business.

I’ve migrated many small to medium sized companies and thousands of users from whatever mail system they were running to Office 365.  If you are interested in learning more about Office 365 I would be thrilled to talk to you about that.  I can help get you a live fully functional demo setup, create your initial environment, and migrate your companies data to Office 365.  Look me up here at my other web site – Office 365 Engineering.

Many moons ago I added a new section on my website called Deals.  I love a good deal.  Better yet – I love sharing a good deal.  If you are looking to “cut the cord”, save some money on your phone bill, then check out this latest deal I’ve posted (although on another page) for Ooma.

Over the years as I was teaching technical classes as a MCT (Microsoft Certified Trainer) I was regularly asked about cool tools and apps.  Or, I would be asked what is the best application for this or that.  So, I started to write about my favorite applications or the best of the best.  I have been adding to my favorites on a (somewhat) regular basis so keep checking back. Check out my Recommendations page and see what I think is way cool!  I’m always sharing with anyone who will listen tips, tricks, and cool new apps to use.

I’ve taken an interest in using my knowledge and expertise and writing content.  I’m also wanting to record video content to teach material or demonstrate a cool tip, trick, or a regular “how to” video.  Watch for new material being posted here.  My latest posting is something I’ve been working on for some time – best practices / ideas of what you should be doing to protect your computer and smartphone.
